I love that you cannot tell that this is a word. It looks like something from a horror film and the design really fits the word. I really dont have anything that i dont like but i guess you could go a little darker on the gray.
I really like your use of color I think making it look like blood dripping really emphasizes the word violent. Maybe adding a little more depth somehow would have added to it.
I like the color choice. I can really feel the "dripping" and there's also tension. I wonder how a different color in the background might look. The grey tones it down a bit- there might be a color, maybe even white, that would add more contrast.
