I like your use of colors a lot and the composition is really nice too. I think he said that he didn't want us to make the word legible though and you can read yours.
I love the red outline on the gray. You really created great depth by making some letters smaller. I am not sure if I like the blue color.
I like your use of changing the opacity of the letters. It gives a good sense of depth to the image.
